According to wikipedia a Tomboy is a girl who behaves according to the gender role of a boy, wearing of typically masculine-oriented types of clothes and, practice games and activities (often physical in nature) that are typically considered to be the domain of boys.

Origin of the word "Tomboy": An English language print reference to the term tomboy can be traced back to 1553 when it was used to describe a "rude,boisterous boy." Another reference, in 1579, as a "bold or immodest woman" and in 1592: "a girl who acts like a spirited boy." This development of the word is largely a corruption, through misinterpretation and mistaken use over centuries and is derived from the Anglo Saxon "tumbere" meaning dancer or romper, from the same roots as the French "tomber," to tumble about. The Thumbelina (Teenage Tomboy): Mga teenager na Teddy Bear, usually mga mapuputi na payat, astig kung maglakad, my hawak na panyo at kung umasta eh teenage boy talaga (mga cute cla in all fairness)hehe.

Chapstick Lesbo (Soft Butch): A soft butch is a lesbian whose appearance is generally androgynous. She may dress and act in a masculine manner, but be soft and more feminine in the inside. Also, a soft butch can be someone who falls somewhere between butch and femme, but closer to the butch side. Example: Ellen De Genres.

In summary bakit nga ba mga bears ang term? origin of terms? the etymology? I dunno.. Probably dahil most of the Teddy Bears (stereotype) are huggable and malalaki tapos, maikli hair, mukha talga silang Teddy Bear for me eh... Hahaha!! atleast cute di ba? and most importantly hindi rude.. hehe.. I have nothing againsts them. i have several friends na all of their kinds and they're really sweet, funny, and nice naman but remember, not all of them ha? my mga nakakairita pa din. Cguro, we have the same feeling when we see those kinds. hahaha! never mind them! as long na hindi ka naman nila inaano eh Keberrrr!!! Mind your own business nalang... So, from now on alam nan natin gamitin ang mga terms na yan... hehehe!
